Refurbishment of Fire Station Traffic Signals

I am pleased to inform you that as part of our continuing efforts to improve the highways, work is due to commence soon at London Road, East Grinstead.

What we’re doing

For this project we will be:

  • Replacing obsolete equipment and cabling to improve reliability.
  • Repairing underground ducting.
  • Relocating the traffic signals controller to enable easier maintenance.
  • Relocating Wig-Wags to improve visibility.

When this will take place

The work will start on 5th March 2018 and is expected to take 4 weeks to complete. Our hours of work will generally be between 9.30am and 4.30pm. Due to the nature of the works being delivered you may experience some disturbance and we apologise for this in advance. Before the works start, we will erect advance warning signs in the local area, letting you know any changes to the start date and marking the extent of the works.

Information for residents

We know our works can cause disruption but will do our utmost to minimise any impact.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please don’t park where you may cause an obstruction.

At times access may be limited. We will always do our best to allow access to homes and businesses.

Some work is weather dependant. We will keep you updated with any delays & changes via the advanced warning signs.

Road Restrictions during the work

In order to protect our workforce and the public, temporary traffic signals and traffic management will be in operation on London Road for the duration of the
works from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily.
