The Town Council puts on a festive display of Christmas lights in the town every year, with a change of illuminations every five years and in 2013, the Council made the switch to LED lights, reducing the carbon footprint of the celebratory lights.
Since 2018 the East Grinstead Town Council’s Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ has been in conjunction with the High Street Trader’s ‘Big Reveal’.
The Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ this year is on 20 November at 5.00pm and is immediately followed by ‘The Big Reveal’ at 5.10pm. The Traders will be raising funds for their chosen charity and ask that you donate to your favourite window.
The festive lighting will be illuminating East Grinstead until 6 January 2022.
East Grinstead Rotary Clubs Tree of Lights
The East Grinstead Rotary Clubs organise the Christmas tree on Market Square in the High Street. The tree lighting ceremony is held in conjunction with the Festive Light switch on in November and is the start of their Christmas Appeal.
Santa’s Sleigh can be heard around the town in the evenings leading up to Christmas, for full details visit on their website www.meridianrotary.co.uk
