The Town Council puts on a festive display of Christmas lights in the town every year, with a change of illuminations every five years and in 2013, the Council made the switch to LED lights, reducing the carbon footprint of the celebratory lights.
Since 2018 the East Grinstead Town Council’s Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ has been in conjunction with the High Street Trader’s ‘Big Reveal’.
Although there is no official Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ this year the festive lighting will be illuminating East Grinstead from 18 November until 6 January 2021.
East Grinstead Rotary Clubs Tree of Lights
The East Grinstead Rotary Clubs organise the Christmas tree on Market Square in the High Street. The tree lighting ceremony is held on the last Saturday in November and is the start of their Christmas Appeal.
Santa’s Sleigh can be heard around the town in the evenings leading up to Christmas, for full details visit on their website www.meridianrotary.co.uk
