Roadworks in the town

The A22 (Lewes Road) has two-way rolling signals from the 26th of July – 19th of December.

Moat Road access from the A22 will be closed from Monday 5th September for three weeks due to emergency SGN gas works at Sandy Lane.

All the above road closure are being managed by West Sussex Highways, who can be contacted on 01243 642105.

Visitor Information

The Town Council, in partnership with Mid Sussex District Council and West Sussex County Councils, operates a Visitor Information Service, which is located in the Library Buildings at West Street. When tourism staff are away from their desk a basic relief cover is kindly provided by staff of the West Sussex County Council Library service.

Direct rail service from London Victoria – under 1 hour journey time with bus links to the surrounding areas. Taxis available at the railway station. Full timetable information available at the Help Point in the Library building.

Most of the surrounding towns and villages can be accessed by bus services provided by Metrobus and Southdown PSV.
