Youth Co-ordinator

Part time position. 10 hours per week for the first 3 months then 5 hours per week for a 1 year contract. Hours are flexible but must be available Thursday evenings from September. Start beginning / mid June.

£15 per hour – FTE £28,939 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in setting up a new youth club in East Grinstead. We already have the venue (Sunnyside Barn, Dunnings Road), a qualified Youth Worker, interested parent volunteers and most importantly, interested young people! This interesting and varied role has two elements – youth worker and co-ordinator.

The co-ordinator element requires knowledge or experience of setting up a youth club or similar co-ordinating and administration experience. You will need good organisational and written skills to create necessary safeguarding documents and put processes in place for all to follow. The youth role requires someone enthusiastic and motivated to engage with young people. You will
attend and support the Youth Worker at the Thursday evening youth club and when required you will run the youth club.

The 10 hours per week will be for this set up preparation time before the youth club opens in mid September. Once the youth club is open, 3 hours a week will be on Thursday evening and the other 2 hours will be flexible and will be for ongoing co-ordinator duties and completing funding applications.

You can work flexibly from East Court, the library, home and Sunnyside Barn. Initial induction period will be face to face.

This post may become permanent subject to funding availability after the first year.

Application Forms must be submitted by email to or mailed to East Grinstead Town Council, East Court, College Lane, East Grinstead, RH19 3LT. CVs are not
accepted. This Council is a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme. Closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 20th May.
