Bus Shelters

A bus shelter is a designated place where buses stop for passengers to board or leave a bus. The covered structure at a bus stop provides much needed protection against the weather for anybody waiting for a bus.

Bus stop posts, signs and electronic arrival time display units

These are all the responsibility of West Sussex County Council.

Bus shelters

The 20 Bus shelters in East Grinstead are owned and maintained by one of 3 organisations.

The East Grinstead Town Council owns and maintains shelters in Holtye Road, Quarry Rise, Sandhawes Hill and Dunnings Mill.

Most bus shelters are provided and maintained in partnership with Clear Channel. East Grinstead Town Council entered into a partnership agreement whereby, in return for sole advertising rights, shelters are provided and maintained at no cost to the Council.

The larger modern bus shelter at the East Grinstead bus station forecourt was installed in 2015 and is maintained by West Sussex County Council.
