East Grinstead Sports Council meeting

Our next East Grinstead Sports Council meeting will take place on Thursday 1 October at 7.00pm and will be held in the East Grinstead Sports Club, Saint Hill Rd, East Grinstead RH19 4JU

The Sports Council brings together the town’s sports clubs and organisations. Our participants tell us that what they particularly like about our meetings is the opportunity to update other clubs and also informally network with them. In this special meeting we will focus on this networking and try to take it to a new level in terms of the value to our clubs.

I would therefore like the meeting to be a lively opportunity to:

• share successes and good ideas that other clubs might learn from
• discuss the challenges we are facing, particularly around volunteers and attracting new participants
• identify opportunities for clubs to work together
• consider how we can encourage more people in East Grinstead to become active and involved in sport
• hear what clubs would like the Sports Council to do to support them and what they would like from our meetings

I will facilitate the discussion to try to make it as effective as possible.

This will be followed by a brief re-introduction to our Basketball Club, who have asked to re-engage with us, and an update on the new arrangements for the School Sports Partnership.

I hope you will be able to come. The strength of the Sports Council lies in the clubs themselves, and the more we share with each other, the more useful our network becomes. If you are not able to join us, could you please nominate an alternative from your committee or volunteers.

Best wishes,

Bob
