East Grinstead Town Council first became aware through reports on social media on 1 October 2026 that Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove was closing Glen Vue in East Grinstead.

The Town Council has no formal role in Age UK’s management or decision-making and was not involved in the arrangements for the merger with Age UK East Grinstead or in the closure decision.

Glen Vue provides valued support and opportunities for older residents to meet and socialise, alongside dementia care and support for members of our community. The Council recognises the importance of these services and is working with Age UK to understand which services will be lost to local residents before considering whether any mitigating actions can be taken.
