The Town Council are delighted with the announcement of the opening date for the, long awaited Travelodge.  The new King Street site will open on 15 October 2018 and bookings from that date onwards can now be made on the Travelodge website.

Cllr Frazer Visser Chairman of the Town Councils Planning Committee said “We are very pleased to hear that the date has been released and the hotel is now taking bookings.  The site has been a work in progress for so long that rumours were constantly abound that the completion would not happen.  However the date has now been announced and the much needed town centre hotel is poised to open”

The Town Council have given regular updates as information has been known via the Councils planning committee and Cllr Visser is looking forward to confirming this final piece of news at the next meeting on 6 August.

The new Travelodge will be a welcome addition to the town’s accommodation offering and will increase the options for visitors wanting to stay in the town centre.
