The Town Council is responsible for the War Memorial flower beds in the High Street, and each year look to commemorate some of the important annual anniversaries. This year’s theme, celebrated with the plantings in the High Street flower beds, will be ‘Friendship and Tolerance’

We will be marking the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday, The Royal Sussex Regiment and the ‘Day Sussex Died’ (a fearsome battle in WW1 that took place in 1916), the 50th anniversary of Twinning Association, 75th anniversary of Guinea Pigs and the 460th Anniversary of the three East Grinstead Martyrs. Children from the primary schools and Brownie packs of East Grinstead are creating Friendship bracelets to be incorporated into the design.
