Mid Sussex Battle of the Bands is back

AFTER its highly successful inaugural competition last year the Mid Sussex Battle of the Bands competition is back.
Promising to be bigger and better than ever, it is jointly promoted by Hereward Kaye of Rok Skool and Robert Eggleston of Snowdrop Music with strong backing from Freedom Leisure.
The competition is being opened up to a wider pool of local talent this year with four categories which will cater for solo artists as well as bands.
Soloist categories are:
11 – 16 year olds
17 and over
Bands (two or more members) are for:
11-16 year olds
17 – 21 year olds
To be eligible, soloists must live in Mid Sussex and the bands must have at least one member living in Mid Sussex.
The winners in each category will get three opportunities to perform at live gigs as well as a trophy and cash prize.
Applications close on Friday 14 February 2014. Auditions will be held on Friday February 28 February and Saturday 1 March with four successful finalists from each category going through to the final.
The final of Battle of the Bands will be in the Martlets Hall on Friday 14 March 2014 when 8 bands and 8 soloists will compete to be the District’s top young performers.
