Please note that Turners Hill Road is now closed 24/7 from the junction of Brooklands Way Roundabout to Imberhorne Lane from 13 June - 14 October.

A road closure will also be in place on West Hill from the junctions with Brooklands Way to Queens Road from 22 August - 14 October. The current diversion utilises Imberhorne Lane as a relief road. This road closure is managed by West Sussex Highways, who can be contacted on 01243 642105.

Following the government’s announcement that councils can reopen play areas and outdoor gyms from 4 July and following an assessment of the East Court playground in accordance with the government’s guidance, the East Court play area is now open. Please be aware this facility has been safety inspected but cannot be guaranteed to be COVID-19 free.

  • Handwashing facilities are available in the public toilets
  • Adults should provide regular sanitisation
  • There is currently no limit on the maximum number of users able to use the play area but it is still really important to follow social distancing guidance
  • There isn’t a maximum length of time you should stay; but please be mindful that other children will want to use the equipment and try not to stay too long if other children are waiting to play
  • If the play area is busy there is plenty of open space but no formal queuing or waiting area
  • There is a limit to the number of children allowed on play equipment at any one time. We advise there should be no more than one child using an item of play equipment at any one time unless the children are from the same household and living together
  • In line with government guidance we request those using the play area to only have one family member/carer accompanying a child
  • If you will be unable to safely maintain social distancing or the play area is at capacity you should not enter the play area or use any equipment. Please come back again when there are fewer people using the facilities
  • Eating and drinking in the play area is not permitted
