Cemetery and Compliance Officer

Full time Monday – Friday 37 Hours per week
SCP: 22 – 25 (£20,661 – £22,658)

We have a vacancy for an officer to join the Finance and Central Services Team, responsible for maintenance of the Councils burial records including; the sale of plots for burial and ashes interment, Liaison with funeral directors and the outside services foreman to prepare for burials and interment, taking responsibility for administrative tasks such as Data Protection, Risk Assessments, Health and Safety Compliance, Freedom of Information, staff and councillor training records, personnel records and covering reception as necessary. We are looking for an all-rounder with sound administrative skills and the ability to work on own initiative as well as a calm and appropriate manner when dealing with the bereaved.

Foreman – Outside Services

Full time Monday – Friday 37 Hours per week

We have a vacancy for a hardworking, team leader to manage the day to day work of the outside services team.  The team are responsible for the Town Council land assets of East Court, Turners Hill Recreation Ground, Queens Road Cemetery, Mount Noddy Cemetery and other land holdings.  The team undertake civic pride responsibilities such as clearing the High St flower beds before new planting, watering hanging baskets, Putting up bunting and advanced warning signage of road closure and civic events.  The Foreman assists with these duties as well as drawing up rotas and managing the team on a day to day basis in liaison with the Estates Management staff.
