Free expert advice for small businesses

THE owners of small businesses in Mid Sussex can get free expert advice from Business Link advisors.

Aimed at businesses which have been trading for at least two years, the one-hour sessions offer support on any aspect of running a business including finance, sales and marketing, planning and HR.

Steve Tilbury, Economic Development Officer for Mid Sussex District Council, said: “Running your own business can be very rewarding on so many levels but it’s also a lot of hardwork, particularly during a time when the country is still recovering from recession.

“An advisor will identify practical steps a business can take to achieve its goals: this is a brilliant opportunity for local businesses to get the support they need.”

The one-to-one sessions make up a series of Business Link clinics hosted and supported by MSDC.

Rod Weale, director of Bluebird Care, an independent care home in Ardingly, said he found Business Link advice very useful and continues to receive support on training and development opportunities for his staff.

“You try to think of everything but having someone on the outside looking in was very beneficial. We discussed just about every aspect that was relevant to our enterprise. It was not a question of teaching us to suck eggs but rather an impartial appraisal of where we were, what we had done and what help was available."
Advice sessions take place at the MSDC's offices on the second Wednesday of each month: the next will be on May 12.

To book a place call Business Link on 0845 600 9 006 quoting ‘Mid Sussex Business Clinics’.
