IN a regular feature on the Town Council website, we will be remembering, on the anniversary of their deaths, the East Grinstead soldiers who died during WWI,  and who are named on the High Street War Memorial.

Lieutenant. The Royal Flying Corps.

Died in an accident in the United Kingdom 20. 1.18.

Buried Mount Noddy Cemetery, East Grinstead.

Arthur Joseph MASSER

Lance Corporal G/17130 13th Battalion, The Royal Sussex Regiment. 39th Division.

Killed in action near Ypres 18. 1.18. Aged 19.

Son of Mr. Masser and Mrs. Elizabeth Masser of 27, Stockwell Road, East Grinstead. Born in Cowes, Isle of Wight and enlisted in Guildford, Surrey.

Commemorated on The Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium MR. 30.
